Design of a Quadruple-mode Filter using Folded Quarter-mode Substrate Integrated Waveguide

This paper presents a quadruple-mode filter by using a folded quarter-mode substrate integrated waveguide. A fractional bandwidth 9% of a bandpass filter is designed and fabricated by using our in-house photosensitive Benzocyclobutene MEMS technology. Source-load coupling is introduced to improve the frequency selectivity of the filter. The insertion loss of processed filter is 2.7 dB at 58.2 GHz. The packaged filter exhibits close agreements between the simulation and measurement results and has the advantage of compact size and can be further integrated with other devices.
