Research progress on the association between c-Met and radiosensitivity in esophageal cancer

Esophageal cancer is a common gastrointestinal cancer in China with poor prognosis. Radiotherapy is the main treatment of esophageal cancer, and radiosensitivity of the tumor cell is a significant reason for the efficacy of radiotherapy. Mesenchymal-epithelial transition factor (c-Met) and its signaling pathway play an significant role in tumorigenesis, development, invasion, metastasis and treatment resistance. This review summarizes the association between expression of c-Met and radiosensitivity in esophageal cancer. Key words: Esophageal cancer; c-Met; Radiosensitivity; Target therapy
