Mechanical and Thermal Behaviour of Cemented Soil with the Addition of Ionic Soil Stabilizer

2018
The cement soil is widely used in the aspects of chemical reinforcement of soft soil. However, the poor early strength of the cemented soil retards its application. To improve the mechanical property of cemented soil, Ionic soil stabilizer (ISS) is often used as an additive. Nevertheless, mechanism of ISS addition remain controversial. In the paper, based on direct compressive strength tests, optimum dosage of ISS was obtained, and thermal gravity analysis (TGA) was conducted for hydration products evaluation. Through TGA, the influence mechanism of ISS on cement hydration was concluded. In addition, the determination procedures of hydration products appear to be helpful for additive selection of cemented soil.
