Synthesis and crystal structure of a novel two-dimensional layer complex [Cd_4(2,2′-dipha)_2(nicotinate)_4]_n

2009
A novel metal-organic complex [Cd4(dpa)2(HL)4]n(dpa=2,2′-diphenic acid,HL=nicotinic acid) has been hydrothermally synthesized and structurally characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction,elemental analyses and IR spectroscopy.The crystal crystallizes in triclinic,space group Pī with a=0.822 2(2) nm,b=1.497 6(3) nm,c=1.981 7(5) nm,α= 80.245(4)°,β=83.88 5(4)°,γ=89.972(4)°,V=2.390 9(10) nm3,Z=2,R1=0.071 6,wR2=0.157 3,Mr=1 415.39,Dc=1.966 g/cm3.In the crystal structure,the Cd(Ⅱ) atom is six-coordinated with five oxygen atoms and one nitrogen atom from nicotinic acid,showing a slightly distorted octahedral geometry.In complex,dpa2-ligands link the Cd(Ⅱ) ions to form 1D chain structure,and further a 2D layer structure by L-bridging Cd(Ⅱ) ions.
