Growth and evolution of multilateral tourism networks: The case of East Asia between 1994 and 2014

Multilateral networks among regional tourism organizations have been discussed in the tourism literature as an important element for fostering regional tourism development. Despite the growing number of literature on tourism networks, cross-border networks in East Asia have received limited research attention. In order to expand upon the current knowledge, this study attempts to understand the growing process and characteristics of multilateral tourism networks in East Asia. The result of network analysis indicates that cooperative networks were established beyond national borders and various local actors were involved in the tourism process in East Asia.
