Biosynthetic function of osteoblasts on the surface of RGD peptide-modified pure titanium

2010
Objective To investigate the effect of pure titanium modified by bioadhesive RGD peptides on the biosynthetic function of osteoblasts. Methods RGD peptides were bound to the surface of pure titanium by using molecular self-assembly.ALP activity and osteocalin expression in the osteoblasts cultured on the surface of titanium were detected,so was protein synthesis of these cells. Results Protein synthesis and ALP activity increased;osteocalcin was expressed ahead of time. Conclusions RGD peptide-modified pure titanium has a marked boosting effect on the biosynthetic function of osteoblasts in rats.
