Micrometeological estimation of evapotranspiration from a Castanopsis cuspidata Schottky forest

1995
Latent heat flux was estimated using the eddy correlation method over a Castanopsis cuspidate Schottky forest located on a mountain slope, inclined at 18 degrees. Seasonal variation of evapotranspiration was also estimated by the Penman-Monteith equation where canopy resistance was calculated according to Calder (1977), providing the values of 581.5mm for annual transpiration and 316.7mm for annual interception loss. Monthly evaporation estimated by the Penman-Monteith equation was roughly in agreement with that from the procedure presented by Suzuki et. al. (1979), although very small values of the latent heat flux observed during winter could not be simulated by the Penman-Monteith equation.
