IDENTIFICATION OF RAILWAY BRIDGES USING LOCOMOTIVE-INDUCED VIBRATIONS

A program of full-scale bridge tests was planned to be carried out as a part of the research project entitled "Rehabilitation of Old Railway Bridges" which primarily considers railway bridges located on the Turkish Railway Network. Four bridges were tested in the summer of 1991. The test programme followed a standard pattern for each bridge. This paper describes the instrumentation used, the test vehicle and procedures for processing data captured in the tests with reference to the Cerkezkoey Railway Bridge.
