The Optimal Design of Parallel Active Power Filter

2009
Parallel Active Power Filter(APF) is a new type of power electronic device which is used to suppress harmonic and compensate reactive power. The traditional active power filter has bad harmonic current detection accuracy and real-time in the detection circuit and slow current tracking speed in control circuit. Owing to these shortcomings, we put forward an improved ip, iq harmonic detection method, in which traditional Butterworth low-pass filter was replaced by the Least Mean Square (LMS) adaptive filter; In the control circuit, a control method of active power filter which based on artificial neural network is proposed. Establishing simulating models of main circuit and control circuit, and the simulation results prove that improved parallel active power filter has high detect precision and good harmonic suppression effect.
