Evolution of wall shear stress with Reynolds number in fully developed turbulent channel flow experiments

An experimental study concludes that beyond $R\phantom{\rule{0}{0ex}}{e}_{\ensuremath{\tau}}\ensuremath{\sim}600$, the wall shear stress (${\ensuremath{\tau}}_{w}$) evolves to an asymptotic state in which the statistical moments, probability density function, and power spectra of ${\ensuremath{\tau}}_{w}$ become independent of Reynolds number.
