Because ofthis, thePowerTransmission Companies haveoptedfortheOPGW stringing withenergized transmission lines. A quitesafeandproductive methodology called "Carrier" wasadopted t.Themethodconsists inusing a self-propelled carrier thatslides on existing grounding wire, whilepulling an aramidropeandpositioning several double pulleys. TheOPGW getsstrung bypulleys andthenreplaces the existing groundwire.Thispaperdescribes theexperience of several OPGW stringing, including methodology andtools used, advantages andmainresults achieved. Additionally, itshowshow teamtraining wasconducted andsecurity measures undertaken.
