An Exploratory Study on Performance Appraisal System in Industry: A Case Study of Industrial State of Hayatabad Peshawar

This is an exploratory study about the performance appraisal system in the industrial estate of Hayat Abad Peshawar. Primary data for this exploratory study is collected through a research questionnaire from the sample size of 50 out of population size of 522 industries. 122 industries are found closed due to financial, load shading and stock shortage problems. The systematic random sample technique is used for 50 sample size. The data collected through questionnaires that are filled by HR managers and in charge admin working in these industries. The study explore that the performance appraisal system in the industrial estate of Hayat Abad is practiced in only one form, that is supervision, and it is conducted only annually. It further explore that this performance appraisal method is not utilized for any training, skills development, learning, or employees’ development purpose, and is done without any feedback and discussion with the subordinates.
