Cardiovascular Pathology Secondary to Alcohol Consumption, Drugs of Abuse and Medication

A large number of chemical compounds, including drugs of abuse and certain medications, have proven harmful effects on different components of the cardiovascular system, especially on the myocardium; hence, some authours use the term chemical cardiomyopathy to refer to these negative effects.
