The invention discloses a method for directly synthesizing an organic luminous material, namely 8-hydroxyquinoline zinc. The method comprises the following steps of 1, mixing and grinding materials, and 2, performing hot melting reaction. In the step 1, anhydrous zinc acetate and 8-hydroxyquinoline, serving as raw materials, are added to a ball grinder according to a mole ratio of 1:2 and ground for 1h; absolute ethyl alcohol is added dropwise in a grinding process; the dosage of absolute ethyl alcohol is 1 drip/g; and the dropwise adding speed meeting the requirement that no starchiness appears is preferred. In the step2, after a vacuum drier is vacuumed till the vacuum degree is minus 0.08MP, the ground raw materials are transferred to the vacuum drier, then heated to 90-110 DEG C for 2-3h, cooled to the room temperature and discharged; and 8-quinophenol zinc with the purity of 97-99% is obtained. The method has the advantages of simplicity in operation, high productive rate, low cost, no waste liquid, environmental protection.
