Exploring the impact of organizational training tactics on new entrants' e-learning system use

2010
Recently, with the flexibility in time and space and the cost-down effect for employee training, many enterprises adopt e-learning systems for employee training. With strangeness, the use of the e-learning systems is especially important to new entrants because they need to use the systems to gain information for guidance and adaptation to new organizations. The adaptation affects if a new entrant can become a member of the organization and has impact on their future job outcomes. However, the phenomenon that new entrants do not use the training systems is observed, but limited studies explore the issues related to new entrants' e-learning systems training. Therefore, this study is motivated to explore the impact of the training tactics practices adopted by organizations' on new entrants' e-learning system use. Data from one hundred and seventeen valid respondents who entered their organizations within a year were gathered. The results showed the significant impact of the collective-individual training tactic on new entrants' e-learning system use. The results of this study facilitate the practices of organizations' implementation of e-learning systems for new entrant training.
