For this article, a series of tests were carried out in which concrete samples were prepared with two different types of reinforcement (steel fibers and polypropylene). Once the curing time of the test specimens to fail has passed, the effect of these two types of reinforcement in the concrete is studied, using the test for the ultrasonic pulse speed (VPU) to be able to determine the mechanical damage of the concrete, since It is based on the fact that the compression wave velocity in a concrete mass is directly related to the elastic properties of the material, using the recommendations for the use of this method given in NTC 4325. With the data obtained found equations that can predict the state and behavior of the concrete with its respective reinforcing material.
