A Multi-criteria Model Application in the Prioritization of Processes for Automation in the Scenario of Intelligence and Investigation Units

2020
Due to the diversity and volume of existing crime practices, their evolution and expansion is a worldwide concern. To act in different areas and expertise’s in crime fight, units specialized in investigation and intelligence activities have been instituted by government institutions in several countries where, in order to assist the treatment of the high volume of requests directed at these units, an opportunity for application of process automation arises. In this scenario, this work presents a multi-criteria decision model to assist decision makers on the prioritization of processes for automation. Exploring the main concepts of multi-criteria methodology and adopting the MACBETH (Measuring Attractiveness by a Categorical Based Evaluation Technique) approach and software, the model suggests the prioritization of existing processes based on multiple criteria defined by specialists in order to make the decision of process ordering more impartial, efficient, and less subjective.
