Survival After Treatment in Patients with Cervical Cancer at Phramongkutklao Hospital

Objective To determine the five-year survival of patients with cervical cancer after complete treatment at the Gynecologic Oncology Unit, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Phramongkutklao Hospital. Method Retrospective descriptive study of 800 patients with confirmed histologic diagnosis of cervical cancer who had completed treatment at Phramongkutklao Hospital from January 1, 1991 to December 31, 2000. Result Overall five-year cumulative probability of survival for patients with cervical cancer was 0.61. Five-year cumulative probability of survival for stages I, II, III and IV were 0.79, 0.63, 0.44 and 0.00 respectively. Conclusion Survival of patients with cervical cancer after complete treatment did not seen to change despite the changes in treatment modalities. Stage showed a direct correlation with survival.
