Scabies: A Review

Scabies is a cosmopolitan, contagious, pruritic disease affecting mostly children under 5 years. it is transmitted directly in crowded environments, such as nursing homes or orphanages, and most often observed in wintertime. diagnosis is confirmed by detection of the causative agent in skin scrapings, and treatment is often both topical and systemic. Prognosis is favorable with proper treatment.
