Clinical effect observation of mitral valvuloplasty in the treatment of mitral regurgitation

2014
Objective To summarize and analyze clinical effect of mitral valvuloplasty in the treatment of mitral regurgitation. Methods Clinical data as well as operative plans and clinical effect from 150 patients with mitral regurgitation who underwent mitral valvuloplasty from January 2011 to June 2012 in cardiac surgery department of our hospital were retrospectively analyzed. The effect was observed. Results After surgery,19 cases presented with cardiac insufficiency,7 with renal insufficiency and 4 cases undergone thoracic surgery again to stanch bleeding due to increasing drainage volume in thorax. The corresponding symptomatic treatments were provided and then all these patients mentioned above were cured and discharged from hospital. The postoperative cardiac ultrasonography for reexaminations indicated that no patient occurred with mitral stenosis,32 cases without mitral regurgitation(grade 0),75 with slight regurgitation(grade Ⅰ),38 with mild regurgitation(grade Ⅱ)and 5 in mild to moderate regurgitation(grade Ⅲ).During hospital stay period,no death case occurred. The follow-up visits lasted 4 to 18 months.Patient′s cardiac function and size of heart 3 months after surgery were remarkably improved. There were two dead cases in total due to cerebral vascular accident in the 5th and 7th months after surgery respectively. Conclusion Comprehensive application of various mitral valvuloplasty in the treatment of moderately severe regurgitation can obtain a good clinical efficacy.
