The rehearsal: An experiment in psychoanalytic education

Abstract During the year 1972–1973 the psychoanalysts in Cincinnati organized and conducted a series of seminars designed to prepare themselves as a faculty for a new psychoanalytic institute. Although every area has its special history and variables, we imagine that some of our experiences have carry-over and relevance for those planning to initiate psychoanalytic educational programs in their communities, whether they be on a larger scale, such as those leading to provisional institute status, or on a smaller scale, such as initiating one or more new courses in a curriculum.
