Flux pinning in NbSe2 - CrGeTe3 heterostructures

2020
Abstract We observe a hysteretic superconducting switch effect in NbSe 2 - CrGeTe 3 superconductor/ferromagnet bilayer structures. The switching effect occurs robustly at perpendicular external magnetic fields between 80 B 130 mT (confirmed through angle resolved magneto-transport studies). This leads to a strong dependence of the magnetoresistance hysteresis with applied critical variables. We also find that the temperature at which the resistance falls to zero depends strongly on the sweep direction of the external perpendicular magnetic field and also on the constant current passing through the superconductor. We suggest that this is due to a domain structure transformation in CrGeTe 3 which in turn tunes the vortex motion in NbSe 2 .
