Eighty one percent of case group reported a gross change in quality or quantity of vaginal discharge in the last week of pregnancy, in comparison to 14% with full term pregnant women who reported altered status of vaginal discharge in the time interval of week 28 to week 37 0f their pregnancies (Pb0.000) (Table 2). It can be interpreted that hypo magnesiemia can be associated with both muscle cramp and preterm labor. It is suggested that evaluation of serum magnesium in pregnant women complaining of muscle cramp and alteration of vaginal discharge is an available tool in prediction of preterm labor. References
