Risultati del progetto di ricerca PRIN "laghi 2003-2005"

The results are presented of the PRIN 2003-2005 Research Project: "Impact of anthropic activities and of climatic variations on the water budget of the most important lakes in central Italy: modeling of the active processes and possible management strategies." This project, starting with the analysis of the hydrogeological and environmental problems in the main lake systems in central Italy, has given new geological and hydrogeological knowledge useful for updating water budgets and modeling various processes. In addition, a mathematical model for simulating lake levels was prepared which will be useful for estimating unknown terms of the budget and defining possible scenarios in various climatic situations and different management hypotheses. The results obtained could contribute to the preparation of a land plan that preserves the environment and optimizes the use of resources.
