Communication device and method fusing ordinary Ku frequency band and IPstar satellite

The invention discloses a communication device fusing an ordinary Ku frequency band and an IPstar satellite. The communication device comprises a double-communication-system star finding controller, a man-machine operation unit, an antenna, a duplexer, an LNB (Low Noise Block), a power divider, a downlink frequency adapter, an ordinary satellite modem, an IPstar satellite modem, an ordinary satellite BUC (Block Up-Converter), an IPstar satellite BUC and an uplink waveguide switch. The invention further discloses a communication method based on the device. The downlink frequency adapter and the uplink waveguide switch are added on a current satellite communication system, and two sets of Ku waveband communication systems which are originally separate from each other are fused into one set of system, so that the cost is greatly reduced, and the popularization and application of the satellite communication system are facilitated.
