Incoherent neutron scattering from liquid and solid CuNi

Abstract Incoherent inelastic neutron scattering measurements were performed on Cu 0.525 62 Ni 0.475 alloy in the liquid and solid state. The excitation spectrum is strikingly similar in the liquid and solid. The diffusion coefficient (4 X 10 −5 cm 2 /sec) in the liquid was determined from the quasi-elastic peak.
