Medical Waste Management in Romania and the Impact on the Urban Environment

Medical municipal waste presents a very dangerous impact on the environment when is not managed with responsability. In Romania, even if the legislation of medical waste it is aligned to European requirements, in practice exist in a very small proportion. The purpose of the research is to know the level of  efficiency with wich hazardous medical waste is managed in hospital activity. The research method used is comparative analysis method between the general level of medical waste management, the level of costs involved and the level of efficiency of implemented projects.The obtained results are useful both for hospital managers and for economic agents involved.
