New production technology for welded noncircular pipe

A new production system for round or noncircular electrowelded straight-seam pipe has been developed by ZAO Severstal TPZ-Sheksna. The basic equipment employed is a TESA 127–426 pipe-electrowelding system, characterized by a high degree of automation and a distinctive set of equipment that affords considerable flexibility. The pipe produced is of high quality, with very desirable properties. In shaping the pipe blank on the TESA 127–426 system, separate two-subassembly linear shaping significantly improves the outcome, reduces time expenditure in roller replacement, and ensures high productivity.
