Effects of Different Substrates and Slow-release Fertilizers on Growth of Three Precious Species of Tree Seedlings Raised in Plastic Mesh-bag

2013
The tree seedlings of Betula luminifera,P hoebe chekiangensis C.B.Shang and Phoebe bournei(Hemsl.) Yang were cultivated in different substrates mixed with different ratios of peat, perlite, rice hull, taxus bark and shiitake substrate waste to study the effects of adding different amounts of slow-release fertilizer to substrate of peat and perlite(6:4) on height and basal diameter of the three varieties of tree seedlings. The results showed that the optimal substrate for Betula luminifera was peat and taxus bark with ratio of 8:2 or peat and rice hull with ratio of 6:4;the optimal substrate for Phoebe chekiangensis C.B.Shang was peat and perlite with ratio of 5:5;the optimal substrate for Phoebe bournei(Hemsl.) Yang was peat and taxus bark with ratio of 7:3.The slow-release fertilizer rate had influences on growth of the three precious trees, and it reached 3.0~3.5 kg/m3 can satisfy the needs of them.
