Diagnostic value of azygos lobe by CT

Objective To evaluate the diagnostic value of azygos lobe by CT.Methods The imaging manifestations of 10 cases with azygos lobe were analyzed retrospectively among 2000 cases through routine thoracic CT examination.The characteristics of CT in sex,age,location,shape,border and density were observed.Results C-shaped shadow was in larger lobe and the fissure ended anteriorly at the right brachiocephalic superior vena cava(SVC).Ten cases of azygos lobe all occurred in right upper lobe,the incidence was 0.5%,including 5 men and 5 women respectively.Conclusion The imaging manifestations of azygos lobe by CT are typical,which have higher value in clinical diagnosis.
