The chemistry of naras seed (acanthosicyos horrida, hook). III.—The amino-acid composition of the protein†

1958
The amino-acid composition of naras protein is shown to be, in general, very similar to that of edestin which it resembles in physical properties. There are, however, significant differences in the content of tryptophan, arginine and glutamic acid. From the point of view of nutritive value, naras protein is deficient in lysine.
