Manufacturing method of porous ceramics and multiphase materials from cellulose precursors.

2008
Process for manufacturing porous ceramics and multiphase materials from cellulose precursors. The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing porous ceramics and advanced multiphase materials from vegetable precursors, namely from infiltration of metal alloys in carbon preforms obtained by pyrolysis of cellulosic precursors. The invention also includes a method of bonding of these materials. The invention applies primarily to the field of production of usable raw materials in a broad spectrum of industry, for the production of components for applications based on the properties of hardness, friction resistance, thermal conductivity, electrical conductivity, strength mechanical, high surface area, porosity, corrosion resistance, thermal shock resistance, and low density.
