Obstacle recognition determination unit

2006
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an obstacle recognition determining device allowing recognition determination according to risk. SOLUTION: This obstacle recognition determining device comprises a pedestrian detecting section 42 for detecting a pedestrian around a vehicle based on an image photographed by an external sensor 12, a gaze-required region setting section 44 for setting a gaze-required region to be gazed by a driver based on the pedestrian detected by the pedestrian detecting section 42, a sight line detecting section 41 for detecting the driver's sight line based on an image photographed by a sight line sensor 11, and a pedestrian recognition determining section 45 for determining whether the driver recognizes the pedestrian based on the gaze-required region set by the gaze-required region setting section 44 and the driver's sight line detected by the sight line detecting section 41. The obstacle recognition determining device varies the range of the gaze-required region set by the gaze-required region setting section 44 based on the risk that one's own vehicle comes into contact with the pedestrian.
