Magnetic resonance imaging apparatus and antenna apparatus

2012
In order to provide technology that is able to limit coupling and homogenize the spatial distribution of the RF magnetic field regardless of the magnetic field strength of the MRI apparatus and improve penetration of the RF magnetic field into the subject, pad-shaped electric field conductors having a prescribed area are provided to the outside of both ends of rung conductors that are a portion of a configuration that forms a loop-shaped circuit and is driven as an antenna. To be concrete, an antenna apparatus is provided, which is characterized: in being equipped with a sheet-shaped conductor and an antenna unit; in the antenna unit being provided with rung conductors that are disposed at a prescribed distance from the sheet-shaped conductor, two electric field conductors disposed at the two ends of the rung conductors at a prescribed distance from the sheet-shaped conductor, and connection terminals that are transmission and reception terminals provided on the rung conductors and sheet-shaped conductor; and in the rung conductors and the sheet-shaped conductor configuring a loop circuit that resonates at a previously determined frequency.
