Antimicrobial Activity of Extracts of Camptothecia acuminata Leaves

The disc diffusion assay was performed to evaluate the antimicrobial activity of ethanolic extract and aqueous extract of Camptothecia acuminata leaves against four bacteria Staphylococcus aureus,Escherichia coli,Bacillus Subtilis,Sarcina ventriculi,Trichoderma viride,Penicillium chrysogenum and Aspergillus niger.All extracts showed different resisting effects on bacteria according to their concentrations.The reistance effects of different extracts on fungi was not similar to that of bacteria.Among the two kind of extracts,the highest resisting effects was found in the ethanolic extract and the lowest was found in the aqueous extrasct.
