UTILISATION DE LA SUPERVISION FORMATIVE POUR RENFORCER LE PROGRAMME ELARGI DE VACCINATION AU MALI

2018
Mali has embarked on a new dynamic to strengthen its Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI). Every Malian child should have protection against diseases preventable by vaccination. This study is in two phases in two test areas. In each region, two health districts were selected: one for each phase 1 and 2. In each district, two health centers were selected. Supervisions with a joint team were conducted quarterly for one year. At the end of the first year of intervention, there is a slightly better performance in the intervention centers. The pilot study showed that the use of a specific supervisory tool allows a quantitative assessment of the implementation of each health center in a certain area, so that corrective measures can be taken. At the beginning of the study, all four health centers intervention had performance similar to those of the four control centers. We can report increased enthusiasm for supportive supervision in health centers visited but also at the district level staff who participated.
