The Plant Germplasm Database and Platform of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau

A plant germplasm database of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau was established for the purpose of effective data management, storage, sharing and use. This database was developed with a relational database scheme; tools for data collection, examination and inputting were also embedded. An application platform was constructed based on the plant germplasm database of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, using a three-tier model and the Microsoft NET technology, for achieving the functions of digital storage of plant germplasm data and sharing with the public. Database and application platform provide the basis for resource investigation and utilization in the extreme environments of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and meet the requirements of project result sharing and implementation of the project on wild plant germplasm resource investigation and collection by the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology.
