Measurement and comparisons of fluid dynamics characteristics of impact separators used in CFB boilers

In the paper, fluid dynamics characteristics of U-beams, finned tubes which can also enhance heat transfer as well and slot-tubes impact inertial separators have been measured by means of a three dimensional particle dynamics analyzer (3D-PDA), and the measurement results which can provide the basis for study of separation mechanism have been discussed and compared. Based on the distributions of gas-solid two phase fluid dynamics parameters, some recommendations for optimizing the impact separators have been put forward in the paper.
