Influence of Mg~(2+) and Fe~(3+) on the formation of calcium bilirubinate in reversed microemulsion

2006
A series of bilirubinate complexes were produced in reversed microemulsion and characterized by Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy,Inductively Coued Plasma Atomic Emission Spectometry and Zeta potential. The results indicated that the Mg~(2+),Fe~(3+)and Ca~(2+)ions coordinated with bilirubin together.Mg~(2+) and Fe~(3+) accelerated the production of calcium bilirubimate. The stability of the particles of complexes bilirubinate dispersed in water due to the addition of Mg~(2+) and Fe~(3+)ions into the reversed microemulsion. The complexes were easy to affregate to form precipitate.
