HISTOPATOLOGIA DO FÍGADO DE Colossoma macropomum CUVIER, 1818 PROVENIENTE DE ÁREA SOBRE INFLUÊNCIA DE MINERAÇÃO NA AMAZÔNIA ORIENTAL, BRASIL

2017
This study aimed to evaluate the liver tissue specimens of Colossoma macropomum Cuvier, 1818 (tambaqui) grown in lake under the influence of mining activity. Tambaqui specimens were captured, anaesthetized and necropsied, and their livers kept fixed in 10% formalin until the execution of the usual histological technique for paraffin. Cuts of 5μm thick were stained with Hematoxylin and Eosin (HE) and examined under an optical microscope. Changes were found in the livers as: Congestion, core displacement, leukocyte infiltration, steatosis, vacuolization, derangement cordonal structure, hemosiderosis and necrosis. The water analysis showed a high metal content. The results indicate that these biological responses may be characterized as water contamination biomarkers. Keywords: Changes; hepato dystrophies; fish.
