In order to provide a honeycomb body, which is used for example as a catalyst body or a filter body for motor vehicles for use, which has a high structural strength and is simple to produce, it is proposed that the honeycomb body comprises a main body having a square honeycomb basic structure, a through parallel to longitudinal axis of the honeycomb body and mutually parallel first base walls and is formed by parallel to the longitudinal axis of the honeycomb body and extending perpendicular to the first base walls of second base walls, wherein the base body has a support structure, said support walls comprising, the first parallel to the longitudinal axis of the honeycomb body and at an angle to the base walls and extend obliquely to the second base walls.
