The present invention provides a building heating ventilation pipeline detection method based on thermal infrared imaging. The method comprises: performing itineration observation of the internal area, to be detected, of a building through adoption of a thermal infrared imager, and shooting the infrared images of the area to be detected; extracting the image features of the infrared images, combining the pipeline water body infrared image features to identify the distribution of heating ventilation pipelines, and determining whether normal supply at the areas where the heating ventilation pipelines are existed as known are performed or not; and performing fixed point infrared shooting of the fault high-incidence areas of the heating ventilation pipelines, performing processing of the shot infrared images, and confirming problems which are likely to be happened in the fault high-incidence areas. The building heating ventilation pipeline detection method based on the thermal infrared imaging is visual and rapid in detection, high in precision, can realize rapid and accurate detection and maintenance of the heating ventilation pipelines at the internal portion of the building.
