STRUCTURAL LOAD PREDICTIONS IN THE DESIGN OF HIGH SPEED VEHICLES

This paper presents the results of current research on the hydro-structural responses of multi-hulled fast marine vehicles. In the first part of the paper the background to the prediction of global and local structural loads acting on multi-hulled fast marine vehicles in waves is presented. In the second part of the paper the global and local wave loads of a high-speed catamaran in realistic seas is investigated by means of short-term statistical analysis.
