We develop a model to predict gas hold-up and liquid velocity in airlift reactors and gas hold-up in bubble columns over a broad range of sizes, geometrical configurations and experimental conditions. It is based on a previous model (Garcia Calvo, 1989) which allows the friction losses in the gas-liquid interface to be calculated
