The invention discloses a design method for a rotating body tool cathode for contra-rotating type electrolytic machining, and belongs to the technical field of electrolytic machining. The design method comprises the following procedures that step 1, the workpiece half cone angle, the initial bottom diameter, the machining depth, the height, the width of a boss and the allowable error value of theboss are determined according to a drawing; step 2, the tool cathode half cone angle is determined according to the workpiece half cone angle; step 3, the tool cathode bottom diameter is determined according to the workpiece half cone angle, the tool cathode half cone angle, the initial workpiece bottom diameter and the workpiece machining depth; step 4, the tool cathode window included angle of each cross section is determined according to the tool cathode feed rate, the electrode contra-rotating angular speed and the width of the boss; step 5, three-dimensional coordinate values of a windowedge point of each cross section are calculated according to the tool cathode half cone angle, the bottom diameter and the window included angle; step 6, the tool cathode height is determined according to the workpiece height, the workpiece half cone angle and the tool cathode half cone angle; and step 7, a tool cathode three-dimensional model is drawn according to the tool cathode half cone angle, the bottom diameter, the height and the coordinate values of the window edge points.
