Hyperspectral Imaging: Color Reconstruction Based on Medical Data

This paper presents a novel method of full color image reconstruction based on hyperspectral image data. Hy-perspectral images provide grayscale images. To integrate HSI technology into medical applications in the future, it will require a color image for certain tasks, because the medical professional is used to see images in the RGB spectrum (especially during image based operations). This will allow for a seamless change in image technology without any change to the end user. An optimization problem solver for RGB reconstruction of hyperspectral images is proposed. This approach results in reconstructed color images by defined constant illuminations.
