Effect of deformations in the bending of the shaft on the accuracy of torque measurements

1960
The above experimental and theoretical investigations have shown that in order to compensate for the error produced by the bending of the shaft in measurements of torque by means of strain gauges it is necessary to fix the transducers in positions which have the smallest bending strains and place them in strict conformity with the relations deduced above.
