The positive electrode material for a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery

2008
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positive electrode material for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery enhancing reliability and safety of the battery by suppressing the generation of gas on the interface between an electrolyte and a positive electrode and elution of ions without using a metal oxide or a metal fluoride as a positive electrode active material, and to provide a method for manufacturing the same and the nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery. SOLUTION: The positive electrode material for the nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery contains a lithium atom and an atom selected from the group consisting of a nickel atom, a cobalt atom, a manganese atom, an aluminum atom and a magnesium atom, and contains composite oxide particles having space group R-3m structure or Fd3m structure, and a phosphonate compound represented by formula (I) (in the formula (I), R 1 , R 2 , R 3 are each independently alkyl group, aryl group, aralkyl group, a group represented by formula:-R 4 -C(O)-O-R 5 (R 4 is alkylene group, R 5 is alkyl group), vinyl group, vinyl alkyl group, vinyl aryl group, or vinyl aryl alkyl group).
