This study refers to computational simu- lation application and queuing theory indicators in a traffi c area of motorized vehicles with traffi c lights in the city of Caxias do Sul. This study aimed at ana- lyzing the data of the current situation of the select- ed site in order to build a simulation model and to be able to calculate the queuing theory indicators. Then, alternative models were simulated aimed at improving the indicators found. The work is justi- fi ed by the growth of the fl eet of vehicles in the city, which led to increased traffi c fl ow. The method was applied from August 2013 to June 2014. At the end of the method, the proposed items in the action plan were fulfi lled, allowing the researchers to know the current site conditions through the analysis of data and the alternatives that can be adopted.
