THE USE OF KARBATE ANODES IN FLUORINE CELLS

1959
Karbate anodes for fluorine cells were tested in produc tion service at the Oak Ridge Gaseous Diffusion Plant. The service life of these anodes is compared to the service life of YBD carbon anodes. The effect on service life of various percentages of resin in the Karbate anodes is also discussed. The depolarization requirements. the voltage drops across the cells, and the costs for both types of anodes are reviewed and compared. Pertinent pictures and drawings are included. (auth)
